Friday on my mind – The Easybeats, 1966

Monday mornin' feels so bad
Ev'rybody seems to nag me
Comin' Tuesday I feel better
Even my old man looks good
Wed'sday just don't go
Thursday goes too slow
I've got Friday on my mind

August 2025 note

The Campbell Bar was a social gathering open to the staff of a College of advanced education and later a rural campus of a Victorian university.  As this writer understands it the name, Campbell Bar, was a pun of a recommendation within a report by a Professor Richard Campbell that the salaries of staff at colleges of advanced education be limited to some ceiling value.  This limitation was known as the Campbell Bar.

During the period covered here, the Bar was very capably managed by a business staff member whose nickname was 'Captain' because, as local folklore has it, of some formal interaction he had had with an airline company.  'Agent' was simply an abbreviation of 'publicity agent' though here the word has acquired the status of an actual name in its grammatical treatment.

All the material on this site should be treated with the highest degree of scepticism.  It contains full names only as acknowledgements of the authorship of works such as poems.

Agent is not politically astute (well, in fact he's not actually a full bottle) and may occasionally make statements that would not be acceptable in general conversation.  These statements do not represent the views of the author.

Many of the skits make reference to items and events that the local staff would have been aware of but may be confusing for readers unaware of the context – introduction of corporate credit cards for purchases, formation of new committees, mission statements, logos, restructures and etc.

The material presented here is in the context of the period March 2000 to December 2002 – it is extremely unlikely that it will have any relevance whatsoever to the current characteristics of organizations or personalities.
