I had written Les an email, which I had (because I'm female?)
Addressed with copious copies to others in accord:
Was he Dean or was he Region? With implications legion,
A good agenda item for a meeting of the Board.

But an answer came directed, with a 'dot sig' unexpected,
And it seemed the same was keyed in one finger at a time.
'Twas his Deputy who wrote it, and verbatim I will quote it:
"Les is at Bundoora somewhere, but we think he's out of line".

Do the hurrying people daunt him and their pallid faces haunt him,
Third floor of David Myer, where authority's the go?
At John-Scott-House in a meeting, over wine, or maybe eating?
For Bundoora's life has pleasures that the Regions never know

In my wild erratic fancy visions come to me of Nancy,
Presiding over Council, and managing the Man.
And I see the vision splendid, in Michael's words extended,
Of no demulcent prattle but an all-embracing Plan.
